With no light pollution, Wood Bottom makes for premier Montana stargazing. It’s also an excellent spot to watch sunrises and sunsets. Located on the shoreline of the Missouri River, this beautiful campsite has everything a visitor could want, including a natural boat ramp.

Note: Be sure to follow the directions listed, as Google Maps has taken other campers up higher on the bluff instead of along the river.

During the Day

• Take a 1¼-mile walk to the Decision Point Scenic Overlook.
• Explore the banks of the Mighty Missouri.
• Visit the nearby town of Loma.

Getting There

FROM LOMA: Go south on HWY 87 for ½ mile, turn left on Loma Bridge Road and go 1 mile to Missouri River. Turn right and go 1 mile to campground.
