Amenities
The Tongue River Reservoir is a 12-mile-long scenic stretch of water set against dramatic red shale and juniper canyons in the open prairies of Southeast Montana.
Find yourself a camping spot from several campgrounds available within the Park—some of them reservable. Spend your day boating, fishing (excellent bass, crappie, walleye and northern pike), swimming, wildlife-viewing (osprey, blue herons, deer, antelope, bald eagles) and more. If ice-fishing is your passion, the Park offers 11 campsites that have electricity year-round.
After a fun day on the water (or the ice), watch a breathtaking sunset and settle in for the main event: the brilliant night sky. Vivid constellations and twinkling stars are displayed above the reservoir—you don’t want to miss this magical stargazing location.
