Amenities
Looking for somewhere to camp that’s remote, beautiful and without an ounce of light pollution to hinder your view of the stars? The Timber Creek Campground is just the place and, in fact, has earned a Class-1 rating on the Bortle Scale—confirmation that this is an excellent dark-sky site.
The campground is located inside the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest and is a stone’s throw away from Timber Creek, where many have been known to pull in their fair share of trout. There are four distinct sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. All are equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Bears are known to visit the area, so make sure to store your goods properly and dispose of waste responsibly. To learn more about bear safety, visit: Be Bear Aware.
