Amenities
Set up camp on the north end of Nelson Reservoir, where you can enjoy 30 miles of shoreline and wide-open spaces, perfect for spreading out and taking in the cosmos. Location, lack of people, and dark skies make this an excellent spot for stargazing, and the on-site campground means you can make it an overnight adventure.
Visitors enjoy swimming, boating and fishing at Nelson Reservoir. In fact, Nelson Reservoir is ranked the No. 1 walleye spot in the state. Stocked with walleye, yellow perch and northern pike, it produces record class fish of these species. It’s also a popular ice-fishing spot. You’ll find several tent and trailer sites here, as well as restrooms, drinking water and a boat launch. Pets are welcome, and groceries and food services can be found just one mile away.
