Montana is not necessarily known for being a place with many islands, but the Island Area at Tiber Dam is a beautiful exception to this assumption. This gorgeous chunk of land juts out into Lake Elwell from an area not far from the town of Chester and, coupled with dark skies, makes for one unique place to stargaze.

Visitors can also swim, fish or boat in the pristine water. The Island Area has trailer sites, restrooms, water, showers and handicapped-accessible bathrooms. Ru’s Tiber Marina is close by, and stocks food, gas, water, oil and fishing gear.
