Amenities
The Holiday Spring Campground is nicely secluded in the southeast corner of Montana. Its remote location and outdoor surroundings make it ideal for stargazing and the campground gets a top-level Class-1 rating on the Bortle Scale—meaning it’s an excellent dark-sky site. And with only three total campsites, stargazers won't have to worry about added light pollution from camping neighbors.
The best time to visit is between mid-April to the end of November. A reservation is not necessary but make sure to get a spot before the late afternoon to ensure a place for the night. In addition to a few campsites, visitors have picnic tables, a vault toilet and campfire areas. There is no fee to camp here, but make sure to pack it in, then pack it out!
