Crystal Lake sits at 5,700 feet in the heart of the Big Snowy Mountains, near Lewistown, and offers an enchanting night-sky experience, complete with camping. Gaze at the Milky Way against the shadow of the majestic mountain backdrop.
The campground, which offers 28 roomy campsites, sits on the banks on Crystal Lake. This pristine lake is called “crystal” for a reason. The clean, clear water is an excellent place for kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, rafting and swimming. It is also a popular fishing destination.

NEAR MOORE: From HWY 87/HWY 191, turn and go east on Rock Creek Road for 3¾ miles, turn right onto Crystal Lake Road and continue south, remaining on Crystal Lake Road for 18 miles, following the well-signed directions to the lake.
