The Cole Ponds area is just 12 miles northwest of Saco on Hwy 243 and consists of three ponds with fishing species such as Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch and more. If you happen to be fishing at these ponds on a clear day, do yourself a favor and hang around for some incredible stargazing once the sun goes down.

During the Day

• Go fishing on the Milk River.
• Go on down the road and fish and birdwatch at the McNeil Slough Waterfowl Production Area, part of the Bowdoin National Wildlife Refuge.
• Soak in the Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs where RV & tent camping are also available.

Getting There

FROM SACO: Go north on HWY 243/Milk River Road for 12½ miles. Largest pond will be on left.
