Coal Banks Landing is known for its excellent access point to the Upper Missouri National Wild and Scenic River, and the area’s dark skies allow for equally excellent stargazing. In fact, it's so dark that it receives the highest rating of Class-1 on the Bortle Scale. Camp along this beautiful waterway and watch the wonder of the night sky while you’re at it.

During the Day

• Drive to Decision Point Scenic Overlook near Loma.
• Take a day trip to Fort Benton and visit their many museums.
• Take a 2-mile walk and check out the Virgelle Mercentile, then take a free ride across the river on the ferry.
