Reservations can be made online for Antelope Creek Campground, located at Mars Vista just north of the Missouri River along US 191. Choose between RV sites, tent sites and four available rental cabins aptly named for their remote location—the Aurora, Stargazer, Milky Way and Night Sky Cabin.

When it comes to stargazing, you’ll get a great view from this American Prairie Reserve campground as long as skies are clear. The view is so good, in fact, that Antelope Creek has been recognized as a Class-1 on the Bortle Scale which indicates that it is an excellent dark-sky site.

During the Day

  • Explore the Interpretive Nature Trail.
  • Go hiking in the Little Rocky Mountains.
  • Pan for gold in creeks around nearby Zortman.
  • Hike to the white church in Zortman.

Getting there

FROM LEWISTOWN: Take Highway 191 north for 72 miles. Antelope Creek Campground will be off the highway on your left, between mile markers 96 and 97.
